Welcome to Perth: Western Australia's sun-drenched capital where sophistication meets barefoot beach vibes.

Planning things to do in Perth while you’re here? We've whipped up the ultimate 3-, 5- and 7-day Perth itinerary. No worries if you're pressed for time or lucky enough to lounge about for a week – we've got you sorted.

Planning Your Trip to Perth

Perth is the ultimate Goldilocks city AKA not too big, not too small. Just right. It has enough buzz to keep urbanites happy, yet you're never more than a stone's throw from nature's finest.

With world-class museums, vibrant laneways and beaches that'll make your jaw drop, Perth might just be Australia's best city (but don't tell Sydney or Melbourne we said that).

Getting Around & Where to Stay in Perth

Cruising around Perth is as easy as hopping on a bus, zipping about on a Segway or pedalling your way through town on a rented bike. Public transport is a breeze, and major attractions are within easy reach.

Want more freedom? Grab a hire car and choose your own adventure.

When it comes to Perth accommodation, you can’t go wrong basing yourself at Crown Hotels. We’re talking a resort-style stay with a world of entertainment at your doorstep. From premium rooms to a diverse selection of Crown restaurants, you'll be living like royalty.

Best Time to Visit Perth

Perth's weather is like that friend who's almost always in a good mood. Summers are hot and dry (think 30°C to 40°C), while winters are mild and pleasant (about 8°C to 18°C). In short, it’s visitor-friendly pretty much year-round.

The main thing to keep in mind is that winter tends to be the wettest time of year, so you might experience a light shower if you visit during this time.

When it comes to packing, carry light, breezy gear for summer. For the colder months, bring some extra layers for when the temperature drops in the evening. And whatever you do, don't forget your sunscreen! Perth's sun doesn't mess around.

Perth Itinerary for 3 Days

Only have three days? Here's a round-up of the top places to visit in Perth over a fantastic long weekend.

DAY 1: Perth CBD Exploration

Start with a wander through Kings Park and Botanic Garden. The views are stunning, with the city skyline and Swan River all there for your viewing pleasure.

Next, head over to Elizabeth Quay followed by the iconic Perth Mint to discover the history of gold in Western Australia.

Cap off day one at the Bell Tower where you can soak in Perth's skyline from up high.

For dinner, treat yourself to one of Perth’s best dining experiences at Nobu or Rockpool Bar & Grill

DAY 2: Fremantle & Beach Day

A day trip from Perth to Fremantle is a must – about 30 minutes by car or an hour by public transport. Start at the legendary Fremantle Markets – a treasure trove of local goodies and food that'll make your mouth water.

From there, check out the historic Maritime Museum then explore the Fremantle Prison – a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its infamous past as a convict gaol.

After all that touristing, the afternoon calls for a beach trip. Cottesloe or Scarborough both offer the quintessential Aussie beach experience and make some of the top places to see in Perth.

DAY 3: Swan Valley

Make your last day count by heading out to Swan Valley, Perth's wine wonderland. Go on a winery tour and visit the chocolate factories for a sweet fix. It's the ideal way to farewell Perth – feeling relaxed and satisfied.

And don’t forget Crown Perth for one last culinary adventure. Bistro Guillaume perhaps? Or something more casual like 88 Noodle Bar? The choice is yours.
