About
CROWN PLAYSAFE TOOLS
As part of our commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable gambling experience for every guest, Crown PlaySafe provides information, assistance, and programs to encourage guests to gamble safely, and to prevent and minimise harm from gambling.
Play Periods
Crown requires all guests to take regular breaks from gambling, and we may check in with guests from time to time. These conversations are a simple way for our team to check in with our guests and promote safe and enjoyable gambling experiences.
Guests observed to be gambling continuously for three (3) or more hours will be approached and required to take a minimum fifteen (15) minute break from gambling.
Twelve (12) hour daily and forty-eight (48) hour weekly Play Period policies are also in operation at Crown.
- Guests observed to be gambling for 12 hours in any 24 hour period will be required to take a minimum 24 hour break.
- Guests observed to be gambling for 48 hours in any 7 day period will be required to take a minimum 72 hour or 3 day break.
Please note that:
- These are global limits for all gaming products at Crown Perth. They supersede any other limits applied to specific gaming products. This includes play on a single game, multiple games and/or a combination of play on Table Games (TG) and EGMs. It is important to understand that play periods apply to both TG and EGMs. The play period is cumulative and includes time spent on either product.
- When play reaches 3 hours, card-activated Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) will automatically disable for the member's 15-minute break. If a member has not removed their credits prior to this required break, a Gaming Machine Attendant will need to be called for assistance to retrieve those funds.
Time & Loss Limits for Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs)
Time and Loss limits are designed to help guests keep track of their time and money spent on EGMs.
From 26 November 2025, guests will be required to have a valid Membership Card and set their own Time and Loss limits for EGM play.
To play on EGMs, guests are required to:
- Set a weekly time limit (up to a maximum of 28 hours of play per week)
- Set a weekly loss limit (based on individual’s financial circumstances)
These limits will be based on a week, which is defined as 6am Monday to 5:59am the following Monday. Once a guest reaches their set time limit or the 28 hours maximum, they will need to wait until the next week to continue playing EGMs.
Please note that Play Periods will always take precedence. Meaning that if a member has not yet reached their Time or Loss limit on EGMs, a break will still be required if a Play Period limit has been reached.
To help keep track of play, each EGM features a Service Window that displays a guest’s set limits, along with the time and losses they have accrued.
Player Activity Statements
Player Activity Statements (PAS) provide information on electronic gaming activity and help guests who are Crown Reward members keep track of time spent, as well as wins and losses for the period of the statement.
PAS are available for Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) and Electronic Table Games (ETGs).
Crown Rewards allows members to access statements at all times.
Regularly obtaining and reviewing your Player Activity Statement is a way to stay informed of your gaming.
