CHEF DE CUISINE PINGPING POH
Nobu Perth
Pingping Poh had an unlikely change in career direction in her early twenties, transitioning from accountant to chef as she discovered her love for all things food. She made the decision to start her adventure at Crown Perth.
Starting at Crown as an apprentice chef in 2009, Pingping immersed herself in her new career path as she worked in a number of kitchens throughout the complex, developing an exceptional skillset and an unmatched drive for success.
Testament to her dedication, Pingping was announced WA’s apprentice of the year in 2011 and upon completion of her apprenticeship, commenced in Nobu as a Commis Chef. Through her hard work she now heads the kitchen as Chef de Cuisine, making her the first female ever appointed in this role.
Growing up in Malaysia, Pingping was brought up immersed in culture, cooking traditional recipies, which has undoubtedly played part in her affinity for Asian cuisine.
Pingping brings a fresh and vibrant energy to the Nobu kitchen and enjoys the creativity in developing innovative fusion-style dishes with her team.
Nobu was recently awarded 17.5/20, its highest rating yet as part of an outstanding review by The West Australian food writer Rob Broadfield. To view the full article,
