At 1520, everything traces back to that basement at 1520 Sedgwick Ave where DJ Kool Herc sparked a cultural shift that changed the world. Our venue carries that same raw, unfiltered energy and the art of turning something timeless into something fresh.
The Herc follows that philosophy.
Built on an Old Fashioned, it brings together Bulleit Bourbon and house‑made Maple Stout Syrup for deep caramelised warmth, lifted with a whisper of Talisker 10 for coastal aroma.
The cocktail parallels two icons: Kool DJ Herc, who reshaped music, and the Old Fashioned, a pillar of cocktail craft. Just as Herc remixed familiar sounds into something new, this cocktail reimagines a classic with subtle twists and modern creativity.
Named in his honour, The Herc celebrates evolution - respecting the original, remixing the essentials, and serving it with a character that is unmistakably 1520.
