Crown Perth donates 12 tonnes to long term partner Foodbank WA
Crown Perth had the opportunity to donate 12 tonnes of produce and critical food items to Foodbank WA
– an organisation that provides critical support for West Australian families and children in need of emergency food relief.
Foodbank WA supports some of the state’s most vulnerable citizens, by providing essential food and grocery items to more than 400 charity partners state-wide.
Foodbank WA Partnerships and Development Manager, Andrew Wilkinson, said the organisation provides half a million meals to West Australians and the need is expected to increase given the escalating Covid-19 crisis.
“Crown Perth has donated thousands of food items. Donations like this will assist our ability to make fresh produce and essential products available to those families and children that need it most,”
said Mr Wilkinson.
Crown Perth joined the fight against hunger by partnering with Foodbank WA in 1999, and have provided support through annual donations, food drives, event volunteering and employee fundraisers. Additionally, Crown have been donating 125 kg of soup to Foodbank each week amounting to over 123,500 kg of soup since the partnership began. This is distributed to registered Foodbank WA charities and used to run lunch services and feed the homeless.
