17 September 2013 - A talented group of Crown Perth Croupiers and Inspectors were recognised in a glamorous awards ceremony at Eve nightclub last night, with MC Tod Johnston announcing this year’s winners of the annual Crown Perth Croupier and Inspector Championship.
The very best of the bunch were recognised at this annual gala event, where the croups and inspectors swap their uniforms and agile card skills for a famous night of fun and glitz.
The finalists were selected from hundreds of competitors, and last month faced off in a series of challenge events where technical ability, customer service, communication and style were judged.
Being a croupier is no easy task and with the calibre of competition this year, being a judge proved to be even tougher, with an outstanding display of talent and technique amongst the finalists.
After an excellent effort by all, Anthony Verrier and Sam Leyton took out the title of Crown Perth Croupiers of the Year for 2013 – congratulations to both!
An award for top Crown Perth Inspector was also presented on the night. This award is judged on gaming knowledge, customer service, communication, coaching, development and the ability to work well under pressure – all qualities demonstrated by Michael Barsby, Crown Perth Inspector of The Year 2013.
Croupier champions Anthony and Sam have both been invited to compete in the Annual Australasian Croupier Championships to be held in New Zealand next month. The lucky winners will enjoy an all expenses paid trip to Auckland to prove their skills and take out the title this October.
Three individual winners for Blackjack, Baccarat and Roulette were also honoured. Congratulations to the winner for Blackjack, Annis Liew; for Baccarat, Doina Webster and for Roulette, Bobby Tiong.
Chief Operating Officer Lonnie Bossi recognised the dedication of all Croupiers and Inspectors in the lead up to the championship.
“The Crown Perth Croupier and Inspector Championship is an opportunity to acknowledge our staff for their consistent hard work over the past year. The high standards they exhibit in technical skill and customer service is a credit to the ongoing support and training that is provided. Congratulations to all the deserving winners and we wish Anthony and Sam the best of luck as they travel to New Zealand next month to represent Crown Perth at the Australasian Championships,” said Mr Bossi.
