The distribution of the $5 million is as follows;

FIRE SERVICES - TOTAL $2,500,000

NSW Rural Fire Service (November 14, 2019) $1,000,000
Victorian Country Fire Authority (CFA) $1,000,000
Western Australia Bush Fire Brigade (BFB) $500,000

NATIONAL & STATE CHARITIES - TOTAL $2,500,000

Australian Red Cross $500,000

Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES), Zoos Victoria * $1,000,000

*Other Victorian and national accredited wildlife organisations to be included.

Packer Family Foundation Founder James Packer said;

"Australians are digging deep to support each other in these tough times, it's truly inspiring.  My family and Crown are eager to do more and the best way we can help, is to significantly increase our donation.

We hope these funds play a small part in helping our firefighters, and easing the suffering of people who have lost their homes and the poor wildlife caught up in the blaze. We just want to do our bit."

Chair of the Crown Resorts Foundation The Hon Helen Coonan said;

"On behalf of the Crown Resorts Foundation, we are pleased to be able to announce the Foundation will be donating together with the Packer Family Foundation $5 million to support the firefighting effort and recovery.

This has been and continues to be a tragic event and we are incredibly thankful for the hard work and sacrifice of our nation's firefighters, emergency services and charitable organisations. We encourage all Australians to give generously to assist those that have lost their homes and livelihoods, and to support our wildlife and firefighters risking their lives in the field."

Packer Family Foundation Chairperson Gretel Packer said;

"Just like every Australian, we are so grateful to the extraordinary men and women who are fighting these fires. Their courage and heroism are breath-taking and inspiring; and the damage done to people, communities, animals and our wonderful country in the wake of these infernos is utterly heartbreaking.

Our donation will be directed to firefighters, and those caring for affected communities and wildlife. This crisis is far greater than any one contribution but, like so many others, we wanted to do what we could to support everyone facing these fires."

Both Foundations have confirmed that these donations will be paid in full to the nominated organisations this week.

Renowned for writing the best Australian rock songs of the 90’s, the band - consisting of Tim Rogers, Davey Lane, Andy Kent and Russell Hopkinson - promise to deliver fans the sounds and smells of Tap.

“You Am I plays Spinal Tap is an outrageous, ear-splitting, hilarious, politically incorrect, great night out and a fanboy’s delight” – The Advertiser, Adelaide.

“After all these years, we are throwing down the gauntlet and having one big Spinal Tap moment,

 “We love the songs of Tap, they speak of the mighty, meaty and manky elements of the Majesty Of Rock,” said You Am I.

IT’S OFFICIAL! CROWN IS ONCE AGAIN HOME TO PERTH’S BEST STEAK SANGA - 17 May 2018
The Merrywell’s Merry Had a Lamb Sanga takes the crown as Perth’s Best Steak Sandwich at the AHA WA Hospitality Expo.
Show Details

PERTH, 17 May 2018: Third time is certainly the charm for The Merrywell, taking out the metropolitan title in AHA WA’s Best Steak Sandwich competition for a third time at the AHA WA Hospitality Expo held in the Crown Ballroom on Wednesday 16 May.

The ‘steaks’ were high as The Merrywell Chef de Cuisine, Daniel Lopes, battled it out against three other finalists in the grand final cook-off, which saw Crown Perth’s hero pub come out on top with its mouth watering Merry had a Lamb Sanga.

The panel of judges couldn’t get enough of the winning flavour combination - with grilled lamb rump steak, chipotle & fig relish, beetroot pickle, feta mayonnaise & pistachios on a custom designed potato & roast onion bread.

With The Merrywell taking out the metropolitian award for Best Steak Sandwich in both 2013 and 2015, Chef Lopes says he was resolved to reclaim the title and up the ante for his first ever entry since taking over as the pub’s Chef de Cuisine.

“This year we decided to try something different by incorporating WA lamb along with locally sourced produce. It’s an exciting flavour combination that has also proven very popular with our customers”, said Lopes.

Specialty sangas are in high demand on the menu at the moment, with a West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers sanga battle currently on offer – with $5 from every team-themed sanga combo purchased going to charity.

Lopes will now take the battle to the rest of the state. The metropolitan and regional winners are now in the running for WA’s Best Steak Sandwich which will be announced at the AHA-Aon Hotel & Hospitality Awards for Excellence.

BATTLE OF THE SANGAS - WEST COAST AND FREO JOIN FORCES TO RAISE MONEY FOR CHARITY - 25 April 2018
Ahead of the Derby this Sunday, the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers ask their fans to put their money where their mouths are - all in aid of a good cause.
Show Details

Wednesday 25 April. As West Australian footy fans gear up for the inaugural AFL Western Derby at Optus Stadium this Sunday 29 April, The Merrywell has come together with both the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers to launch two footy-themed “sangas” to raise money for both clubs’ charity of choice - with $5 from every combo purchased going to each clubs’ charity.

Available from ‘Derby Day’ this Sunday April 29th, West Coast Eagles’ fans will be able to tuck into the ‘Eagles Big Bird Sanga’, filled with buttermilk fried chicken, oozy cheese sauce - in true honour of the golden team colours – topped with coleslaw ranch, lettuce and tomato between crispy waffles.

Fremantle fans will be able to indulge in the ‘Freo Surf n Turf Sanga’ which pays homage to the club’s maritime history, loaded with popcorn prawns, mouth-watering roast beef, cheddar hi-melt cheese and a punchy remoulade sauce – all served up with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on crunchy toasted sourdough.

Crown Perth’s Chief Operating Officer – Food, Beverage & Entertainment, Andrew Hill, says Derby time provides the perfect opportunity to indulge your team pride in a “sanga” for a good cause.

“West Australians love their footy but their passion also runs deep when it comes to giving. We are home to the country’s greatest proportion of charitable givers,” he says. “We are excited to bring two passions together and help us collectively raise money for two causes that make a real difference in the WA community.”[1]

So who does Hill think will win?

“In terms of our tip on which “sanga” will prove more popular, I think we’ll stay on the fence for this one and barrack for both great community organisations.”

Get behind both teams and head to The Merrywell from Sunday, 29 April. The team-themed combos will be on-sale for one month - the question is which “sanga” will you side with?
