Gilbert O’Sullivan, one of the biggest Irish songwriters and recording artists to reach international chart success in the 70s and 80s, has announced he will be in Australia in 2018 for a national tour as he celebrates 50 years in music.
Gilbert’s first single Nothing Rhymed was released in 1970 and was an instant hit in the UK, reaching the Top 10 on the UK charts. In 1972 Gilbert firmly cemented himself amongst the world’s best with his second album Alone Again (Naturally). This critically-acclaimed album topped both the UK and US charts for an astonishing six weeks, earning him three Grammy nominations.
Gilbert O’Sullivan is best known worldwide for his hit singles Alone Again (Naturally), Clair and Get Down – all released in the early 70s and still heard on radio to this day.
The 2000s have seen Gilbert enjoying a renewed interest in his music with artists such as Neil Diamond, Dianna Krall and Michael Bublé releasing cover versions of his songs.
Having found a renewed love for touring, Gilbert is excited to celebrate 50 years in music with his upcoming concerts in Australia.
